Mrs. Joan M. Barga, 85 of Versailles, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at 2:40 PM at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy, Ohio. She was born on February 19, 1925 in Russia, Ohio to the late Joseph & Opal (Monnier) Simon.
Joan was a homemaker and a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church and St. Anne’s Sodality.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Roger J. Barga whom she married on February 10, 1953; brothers, Clarence, Lloyd and Bernard Simon; sisters and brother in law, Claribel & Lawrence Eilerman and Pauline Simon.
She is survived by sons and daughters in law, Alan & Polly Barga of Minster, Ohio, Terry & Theresa Barga of Versailles, Ohio and Greg & Patty Barga of Versailles, Ohio; grandchildren, Rachel, Albert, Oliver, Hannah, Gabrielle, Luke, Alena, Tyler, Jessica and John Barga; sister and brother in law, Beatrice & Robert Barlage of Newport, Ohio; sisters in law, Ruth Simon of Piqua, Ohio, Otillie Simon of Russia, Ohio and Malvina Simon of Russia, Ohio as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at 10:30 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, Frenchtown, Ohio with Rev. Fr. David Vincent celebrant. Burial will follow in the Holy Family Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 from 4-8 PM as well as Thursday from 9-10 AM at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, Ohio.
Memorial contributions can be given to the Versailles Life Squad or the American Heart Association.
