Marion D. Coovert (April 29, 2010)

Mr. Marion D. “Chuck” Coovert, 86, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 9:41 PM at Rest Haven Nursing Home, Greenville, Ohio. He was born on July 22, 1923 in Eldorado, Ohio to the late Harley & Olive (Duckwall) Coovert.

Chuck was a member of the United States Army and Craft Club. He was a 55 year member of the Greenville Masonic Lodge 143, his other Masonic affiliations include the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton; Antioch Shrine of Dayton; Darke County Shrine Club of which he was a member of the Shrine Jeepsters. Chuck has been a summer resident of Cedarville, Michigan for 48 years.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son in law, Brian Malcho; sister, Ruthann Coovert; and father and mother in law, Sherman & Gertrude Baird.

He is survived by his wife, Joan (Baird) Coovert of Greenville, Ohio whom he married of the Bride and Groom TV Show in New York City, New York of July 16, 1952; daughter, Connie Malcho of Cedarville, Michigan; granddaughter, Emily Malcho of Cedarville, Michigan; and sister in law, Thelma Shives of Greenville, Ohio.

There will be a service held on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Rev. Don Myers officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery, Greenville, Ohio. Family will receive friends from 12-2 PM prior to the service on Thursday. A Masonic Memorial Service will be conducted by the Greenville Masonic Lodge at 2:00 PM on Thursday.

Memorial contributions can be given to the Dementia Foundation or Darke County Cancer Association.
