A. Madge Deis, 84, of North Fort Myers, Florida and formerly of Darke County, passed away early Sunday morning, May 16, 2010 at the Hope Hospice in Lehigh Acres, FL.
She was born May 31, 1925 in Darke County, daughter of the late J. Harold and Leah G. (Amspaugh) Slyder. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Deis and brothers, Wayne K. Slyder and Gene Slyder.
Madge was a retired register nurse having worked at the Community Blood Center in Dayton. She was a member of the Community Chapel in N. Ft. Myers, Poinciana Garden Club, Garden Council of Ft. Myers, ESA and Chi Omega Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority.
She is survived by her son, Robert C. (Barbara J.) Deis of Cudjoe Key, FL; granddaughter, Dori (Dan) Albert of Boston, MA; great grandsons, Maxell and Jackson Albert; sisters, Maxine Hezlep of Greenville and Marilyn Swallow of Versailles; brothers, Don (Shirley) Slyder and Mark (Donna) Slyder both of Ansonia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 22 at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with the Rev. Eric Knight officiating. Burial will follow in the Ansonia Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 10 a.m. till 11 a.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
