Linda K. “Cookie” (Ryan) Wampler, age 68 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 9:20 P.M. Monday May 17, 2010 in Naples, Florida. She was born April 11, 1942 in Greenville, Ohio and the daughter of the late Robert E. “Pat” & Marlene H. (Burns) Ryan.
Linda was the owner and operator of the Merle Norman Cosmetic Store in downtown Greenville.
She was a member of the Eagles Lodge Ladies Auxiliary, V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary all of Greenville. Linda had also been involved in the C.A.S.A. Program of Darke County, a former employee of Family Health and formerly had worked as an E.M.T. for Greenville Area Rescue Squad.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin infant children Jason Ryan and Ann Elizabeth Wampler, her Step Father—Delbert A. Tomes and her Step Mother—Alice S. (Hagaman) Ryan.
She is survived by her husband Donald E. Wampler of Greenville. They were married April 22, 1967. Also by her daughters and son in law—Kathryn “Kate” & Jeff Sopczak of Galloway, Ohio and Amy Cates of Arcanum. Step children and spouses—Dana “Dee” & Jeff Schmidt of Greenville, Janie & Steve Hubbard of Cleveland, Ohio and Donald J. “Donnie” & Stephani Wampler of Greenville. Grandchildren—McKenna R. Cates, Griffin P. Cates and Marlaina K. Sopczak. Step Grandchildren—Stacy Strait, Tricia (Greg) Peck, Carrie (Jim) Hackney, Jody (Jon) Shy, Alexandria Hubbard, Ryan Wamper and Nathan Wampler. Also 11 Great Grandchildren.
As a Celebration of Linda’s life the family will receive friends on Saturday May 29, 2010 from 1 P.M. until 4 P.M. in the Fairlawn Steak House 925 Sweitzer St., Greenville, Ohio. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in the Greenville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations made be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
