Richard L. Cox, 80 of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Monday, May 3, 2010 at 11:29 AM at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton, Ohio. He was born on August 24, 1929 in Darke County, Ohio to the late Luther & Virginia (Holmes) Cox.
Richard was a farmer and collected John Deere Memorabilia. He was a member of the Coletown Congregational Christian Church and loved taking care of his apple trees.
He is survived by his wife, Janice (Marker) Cox of Greenville; children, Denny Cox of Columbus, Cheryl Cox of Greenville, Scott Cox of Greenville, Mark Cox of Greenville, Michael (Tatiayana) Cox of Greenville, and Alisa Cox of Dayton; grandchildren, Jeremy, Hannah, Daniel, Samuel and Megann Cox; brother and sister in law, Dale & Phyllis Cox of Greenville; sister, Barbara Tester of Greenville; mother in law, Irene Marker of Greenville; extended family, Shannon, Karla, Savanna, Sierra and Sienna of New York; special friend and neighbor, Steve Wilson of Greenville as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a service held on Friday, May 7, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville with Pastor Eric Knight officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery, Greenville, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 6, 2010 from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
