In addition to her parents, Kate is also preceded in death by a brother, Ted Kissinger.
Kate is survived by her husband of 58 years, Benjamin Smith; daughter & son-in-law, Sandra & David Hartley of Arcanum; son & daughter-in-law, Jim & Cindy Smith of Melbourne, Florida; grandchildren, Talia Collins, McKalee Weidner, Carmen Trippier, Natalie Wolfe, Jill Loughnane and Brandon Hartley; 4 great grandchildren; brother & sister-in-law, Sam & Mary Kissinger; sister & brother-in-law, Pat & Adrian Petitjean; and sister-in-law; Mary Smith.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 9, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. at Trinity Methodist Church 112 West South Street Arcanum, Ohio 45304 with Therese Lehman officiating. Burial will follow in Gettysburg Cemetery in Gettysburg. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Darke County Cancer Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville.
