Dorothea D. Zumbrun, 92, of Greenville, and formerly of Union City, OH, passed away late Sunday morning, January 9, 2011 at Heartland of Greenville.
She was born in Union City on June 24, 1918, daughter of the late Herbert H. and Jenny (Williamson) Armold. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, J. Raymond Zumbrun on February 13, 1995; a son, Eddie D. Zumbrun; a grandson, Terry Zumbrun; and brothers and sisters, Hilbert, Imogene and Thetis.
A homemaker, Dorothea was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Greenville. She was active in starting some of the garden and flower clubs in Darke County. Dorothea was a charter member of the Sun and Fun Garden Club.
She is survived by her daughter, Connie J. Zumbrun of Greenville; a daughter-in-law, Connie S. Zumbrun of Union City, OH; grandchildren, Kerry (Stefanie) Zumbrun, Sherry (Sam) Keen, Darrick (Hettie) Hueber, Christina (Roger) Bowersock, and Joe (Lora) Hueber; 16 great grandchildren; a brother, Richard Armold of Union City, OH; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 4 p.m., Thursday, January 13, at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Dale Boerger officiating. Burial will take place in the Union City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 2-4 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the First Assembly Church of God in Greenville.
