Frances Rhoades age 81 of Versailles, Ohio, passed away at 1:45 P.M. on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at her son’s residence. Frances was born August 22, 1929 in Miami County, Ohio, to the late Joe & Edith (Riegle) Shefbuch.
Frances was a homemaker and school teacher. Frances was a member of Webster United Methodist Church, where she was very active. She formerly was the Bible School Coordinator; and Sunday school Teacher for 47 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Women. Frances was also a member of the Wayne Grange; Treaty City Homemakers; and formerly a 4-H Advisor for 37 years.
In addition to her parents, Frances is also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Emerson Rhoades on October 12, 2007, whom she married December 29, 1950; brothers, Jacob and Kenneth Shefbuch; and sisters, Kay Hines and Sue Selander.
Frances is survived by her sons & daughter-in-law, Mark & Cyndie Rhoades of Versailles and Todd Rhoades of Phoenix, Arizona; daughters & son-in-law, Carol Clark of Greenville, South Carolina, and Ann & Gary Davis of Lebanon, Indiana; grandchildren, Carrie & Matt Cusick of Troy, Matthew Rhoades of Versailles, Eric & Jill Rhoades of Versailles, Nicholas & Sarah Rhoades of Versailles, Stephanie Clark of Alabama, Zach Davis of Lebanon, Indiana, and Allyson Davis of Lebanon, Indiana; 8 great grandchildren; brother, Robert Shefbuch of Covington, Ohio; sisters, Jane Burger of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, and Virginia Helton of Piqua, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles, Ohio, with Pastor Ray Haley officiating. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park in Covington. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to State of the Heart Hospice or Webster United Methodist Church.
