Gene Cox, 80, of Greenville, died Sunday evening, January 16, 2011 at his residence. Mr. Cox was born in Butler Township, Darke County, on April 13, 1930, the son of the late Earl M. and Weltha C. (Noggle) Cox. He attended EUM Church, Greenville and was a 32nd degree Mason of the Masonic Lodge #295, Arcanum and Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, Antioch Shrine. Gene was the owner of Royal Crest Distributors, Inc, Gene's, Inc. and a partner in Royal Crest Dairy, and involved in many other business adventures. Mr. Cox was a member of the Darke County Farm Bureau and The Elks, Greenville, and a former member of the Butler Township School Board. Gene was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife Patricia (Riegle) Cox, whom he married December 29, 1951; sons Phillip G. Cox and wife Lois of Tipp City and Doug Cox of Troy; grandchildren Brandon Cox and Kevin Cox. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM on Friday, January 21, 2011 at the Kreitzer Funeral Home, Arcanum, with Pastor Sylvia McKibben officiating and the Greenville Area Veterans providing military services. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Ft. Jefferson. The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday 5-8 PM and 1 hour before the time of service Friday at the funeral home.
